You definitely don't need a reservation, and I'm pretty sure that they don't accept reservations.
No just good food at fair prices. Place is small but seating all in small private tables that is quite quaint. Go and enjoy a good meal.
Everything here is COOL!! From the hostess's stand, to the decor to the custom decorated tables & chairs, to the food!! The Norwegian Potato Cakes and Lefse are a MUST!!!
Great little diner for good food, good portions and modest.pricing.
Oh My! This is comfort food at another level. The pancakes are huge, the biscuits and gravy are creamy and savory and Jade gave us amazing service. Enjoy google nation!
Great experience. Showed up close to closing time but treated very well nonetheless. Cute atmosphere. Tastiest poached eggs with smoked salmon and avocado on sourdough toast😋
Excellent price, short wait time during weekend rushes. Always friendly staff will keep you coming back!
the One Huge Pancake is indeed...huge. I ordered it with blueberries and was not disappointed. Service was also excellent...our server was really attentive without hovering.10/10 this will become a regular stop for me.*edit: spelling
A gem of a cafe in the Orange area, this review has been a long time coming! I was so happy when they opened as specialty coffee places seems somewhat sparse in Orange, and they have definitely consistently delivered. The coffee drinks are delicious. The Italian cappuccino which is my go to- good whole bodied espresso with a touch of perfectly foamed milk.
I stopped by near closing time on a Friday, and they took great care of me building a fabulous "to go" breakfast! Corned Beef, eggs over easy, and Rye toast.I arrived so close to quitting time that I wouldn't have been offended if they'd told me to come back on Saturday, and had even identified a "plan B" in case it was needed. They were very glad to put a quick meal together for me.The decor is fascinating, with novel signs and some amazing art on the chairs. I could have spent quite a while just soaking that in while I waited. This is a neat place that will get more time on my next trip!
Ruth's makes you feel like you have suddenly arrived to a country cafe. Quirky farmhouse decor and eclectic mix of nerd crazy cat lady artifacts. The food is so flavorful! The Belgian waffle is more like cake (no syrup needed to sweeten!) and the spicy chorizo skillet had a good kick.We were seated almost immediately at a table for two around 10am on a Sunday. I would recommend for couples or small groups since the space is fairly tight.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. I would have given 5 stars but a workers phone behind the register kept going off every few minutes, so annoying.
Great place to go to. First time going there with my wife. Service was good. We enjoyed our food thoroughly. We would definitely go back.
This place is amazing... Best food I've had eating out in a really, really long time. Wow. Locally sourced with gluten free options. I just ate the most amazing build-your-own omelet with two cheddars, asparagus, zucchini, ham, bacon, portabella mushrooms, and spinach. Next time, I'll add the goat cheese. :) Awesome blue cheese dressing on my salad, the fruit cup was outstanding, and the server was super friendly and helpful. This is our new favorite restaurant!! 💕
I really liked the atmosphere. I have heard people rave about the biscuits and gravy, so I ordered it. Really gross in my opinion. I expected sausage in the gravy. It tasted more like ground beef with chicken seasoning (or maybe a blend of chicken and ground beef?) Really bland. I couldn't eat it, but decided to be pleasant as possible and fish around for the biscuits pieces to eat as I was with my parents, and they love the food. It is pricey as well. I will be back, but I will never order B&G there again.
The very biggest and most delicious pancakes, truly. Also the decor is eclectic and a lot of fun. A+
Ruth's Cafe is a cute, quiet, eclectically decorated cafe with a fantastic breakfast selection and great food. This is my first visit to Ruth's and it will definitely not be my last. My food arrived in a timely manner, it was hot and visually appealing...which means a lot to me. I ordered the "Old School" breakfast combo and subbed a pancake for my toast. The pancake is enormous and fluffy. The eggs are cage free (per the menu) and were scrambled perfectly and the bacon was of a decent quality...which I also appreciate. My total bill was $10.08 😄 The food is well worth the value! Ruth's gets 5 stars from me.
This place is my new favorite delicious and eclectic brunch location. It's decorated with cute sayings on the wall and antique tableware. Their biscuits and gravy are to die for and I would love to come back and try the pancakes. I had the mango rose tea as well, which came served in an adorable teapot!
My "scramble" was excellent! Ruth's makes their sausage fresh, and it tasted great! The coffee is decent, the service is friendly and just attentive enough, the fruit cup was fresh and sweet, and I love their homemade spread on the cinnamon raisin toast. My wife really enjoyed all the decoupage chairs. Highly recommended!
This place is adorable!! Absolutely loved it. Food was fantastic. The pancakes are truly huge so get ready to take some home. Loved the selection of teas including seasonal. Will be coming back. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because it is cramped. Felt we were having breakfast with the tables on either side of us.
No wait a little after noon on Saturday. Generous portion. Decent staff. Minus one star cos some of it looked a lil worn and floors a bit dirty. Other than that, great spot with a twist of humor
Normally it's a 5 star experience but today service really fell off at the end. No water or coffee refills were offered and she was gone a really long time. Food was delicious as always!
Great little place. You would not expect the homeyness in the inside by looking at the outside. Food was good. Service good. Great place to go for a traditional breakfast. Recommend.
Some of the best biscuits and gravy!! I love the decor, as you can see my table was covered in comic book pictures and so were the chairs. Very artsy vibe! Food is great and they have breakfast and lunch.
Very good home made food. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Great find of the day.
Stopped in to check this place out. It was busy so I thought this would be a good spot for breakfast before heading on to shop. To start we was seated as soon as we walked in the door. It took a few minutes to take our order but that was fine. The restaurant has a cool vibe and a lot of decorations on the walls that can be purchased. Food didn’t take long to come out. To start I ordered biscuits and gravy and we also had an order of French Toast. There was something different about the biscuits and gravy. Tasted like maybe onion in the gravy plus the sausage tasted funny. Not sure if I got the wrong gravy or not. They do offer different kinds of sausage for the gravy. The highlight was the French Toast., it was very good.
I decided to go to this spot on a whim, looking for a cafe near work. So glad I did! I came around lunch and had no wait, staff were super quick and friendly. The best part is that it feels like you're in someone's house, it feels so homey. I ordered a basic fruit/granola bowl and it was great, but I'm looking forward to trying their other items too!
Cramped. Smells like burnt oil. Coffee was gross, food was OK. I had 3 different people "serve" me. Who did i tip?
Absolutely a fun and friendly atmosphere. The ambience is something like you have not seen before. Every where you look is something different to occupy your time if alone, or be great laughs and conversation starters with friends or family.Waiting staff is fun and friendly eager to help you with your order, or just ensuring you have a great experience.Going Green... their togo packages are from recycled water bottles but super cool colors... love the orange and will be washed and reused by us at home.Straws were on point and unusually large also from healthy and recycled goods. The good large portions and very fair prices. Taste was like a home cooked meal and serve breakfast all day. This is a must visit location... I didn't catch all of the fun staffs name, but I highly suggest to ask for Kasey and her section when you go because that was our rockstar server :-) But you won't go wrong with any of them I have a feeling :-)
I love this place. Delicious food & Delightful Service.- SunShine Smiles
Really good breakfast food. Excellent.Warning...the pancakes are the size of a dinner plate. The biscuits and gravy half order is huge too. Smoky sausage flavor to the gravy. The atmosphere has a real keepin' it weird vibe reminiscent of Austin, Texas. Check out the salt and pepper shakers. Super cute! Eat Local y'all.. Eat at Ruth's!
Really loved every aspect of this place. The service was great. I really enjoyed the chairs, each decorated with magazine cutouts. The Star Trek and Prince chair were my favorite chairs. The food was excellent. Had the hash with a half order of biscuits and gravy. Also had a macchiato. Everything was great!
Ruth's Cafe is a nice breakfast spot. Especially on Sunday. It has what can be described in many ways but described by me as a "Fun" atmosphere. For a person with A.D.D. like myself, it's always got something to see or read to keep your attention at every twist and turn. When you walk in there is typically a wait on Sunday. Either way, you can grab a cup of coffee to enjoy while you wait. There is a very small waiting area but the staff does a good job of filtering people in and out. We did not have to wait long. The service was great and each table is unique in style and has a specific theme. The corn beef hash and eggs were wonderful. All portions are plentiful. We tried a few things and they were all great. We never felt rushed which can happen at some breakfast joints and enjoyed our visit.
Decent food, not so great service. I ordered the old fashioned, very classic breakfast dish with 2 eggs, meat, and toast. I added on some potatoes, which were pretty good, but altogether nothing to write home about. I was excited to try out a new breakfast spot because the reviews were so great. I had the bare minimum level of service; my waitress took my drink and food order and brought my food over and never once checked on me. I expected to see her at least once or twice after getting my food, but I was completely ignored. I hope if I decide to come back, it will be a different experience. I was really looking forward to phenomenal food and warm service.
Ruth's is a gem! They've always made me feel at home. Their menu is solid and their decor is fascinating and wonderful, kinda like PeeWee's Playhouse. The other day, at the Star Wars-themed countertop, I told my waitress, I can't decide between your veggie scramble or your brioche French toast. She says, you can get a 1/2 order of the French Toast with your scramble. Perfection!
I was visiting from Los Angeles and asked the lovely Michelle for a recommendation at Ruth's and she gave me as close to S.O.S. as I've had on a long time. It was delicious! What a great place!
Good food but a little bit pricey but the amount makes up for it.
terrible customer service!!! everyone was extremely rude when we asked to order! was completely ignored for over 20 minutes when just wanting take out! then, when handed our food it seemed like such an inconvenience when we had asked to pay! very very disappointed in how we were treated today and will not be giving our business here anymore.
First time here and they definitely set the bar! I'll be back😍 As a manager and head chef myself it's hard to find place that I can enjoy the cooking... simply amazing from the atmosphere to the service to the brisket and eggs..Thank You Ruth!
Excellent food, staff, and atmosphere! I highly recommend. The meals are each prepared fresh, from wholesome ingredients. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Good food, friendly staff, unique and fun atmosphere (even the tables and chairs). The portion sizes are large or spot on. Tasty food, with several Norwegian-style items, vegetarian items, along with traditional brunch food. The line is work the food and decor
From the outside it doesn't look like much of anything. Maybe that is why this was my first time. It will not be my last! The minute I walked in, it felt like I was back in Berkeley, California. The server, Leslie (I think?), was very nice and attentive. The menu is fun to read through and has unique items. I had the Brisket Hash with potatoes, eggs and cinnamon raisin toast. They make their own jam and source locally as much as possible. Hope to see you there soon!!!!
Love this cute spot! You'd never know how awesome and quirky it is from the outside. Fun decor, huge and delicious menu, and service has always been awesome.
Cute place. Bustling and nice staff. Lunch was ok. No kids menu, at least none was pointed out. I will try for bfast before completing ruling them out.
Fantastic atmosphere serving fantastic food. Went in for lunch on a whim and will definitely be going back for more. Try the Brie-LT sandwich.
